Artisan yarn

Matchsticks is just what these look like to me! This one has a warp of several warm grays reminding me of stones with Curry matchsticks; a warm yellow-y orange! They will also double as towels in a guest bathroom, a small table runner, a basket liner... the uses are endless! All towels are handwoven

A cotton warp whose colors are inspired by the gorgeous and subtle colors of fall mushrooms. Draft is an 8 shaft adaptation of a traditional overshot pattern. Each towel has a different weft, tie-up or treadling.

This morning I finished a sample of 8-shaft Turned Bronson using a new yarn from Webs; Colrain Lace, a 50/50 blend of merino wool and tencel. The yarn is gorgeous; soft with a slight sheen and lovely drape that make it perfectly suitable for clothing. Here is the sample on the loom: Bronson, like most handwoven lace, looks very different on the loom compared to what it looks like after washing and finishing. Made this with all my leftover scrap yarn. I've been meaning to donate it. I learnt how to make this in school where we the whole school was engaged in knitting thousands of squares and we gave the finished quilts to charity.
