UK-based producer and rights management company Coolabi has inked a digital terrestrial broadcast deal with CiTV for its preschool animated property Poppy Cat (52 x 11-minute).
The series, slated to bow on CiTV this spring, is commissioned by Nick Jr. UK and debuted on the channel in May 2011 and on US on 24-hour preschool channel PBS Kids Sprout in November 2011.
Sales have also been made to more than 20 broadcasters worldwide including Disney Junior (Spain, Latin America), Nick Jr. (Australia), TVO, SCN and Knowledge Network (Canada), and RTE (Ireland).
Poppy Cat is based on a book series created by British author Lara Jones that has sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide.
