| Abstract: | Das Schlagwort »Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion« (»Vielfalt, Gleichstellung und Inklusion«) dient in wachsendem Maße in Politik, Wirtschaft, Universität, in Teilen auch schon in der Kirche, dazu, im Namen einer (tatsächlich oder vermeintlich benachteiligten) Minderheit der (zumeist) schweigenden Mehrheit bestimmte Verhaltensweisen aufzuerlegen und ihren Sprachgebrauch zu steuern. Auch der katholischen Soziallehre geht es darum, bestehende Ungerechtigkeiten zu beseitigen. Ob allerdings die Konzeption von »DEI« dazu einen Beitrag leisten kann, welcher der christlichen Moral und Anthropologie (sowie dem geltenden Recht) entspricht, bedarf der näheren Ausleuchtung. Der Band thematisiert in interdisziplinärer Perspektive, welche Herausforderungen »DEI« für das Handeln von Staat wie Kirche mit sich bringt und welche Auswirkungen dies auf Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft entfaltet. / »Identity and the Tradition of Catholic Social Thought: Understanding “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion”«: The concept of “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” pretends to eliminate existing injustices in politics, society, the economy and within the Church. Catholic social teaching shares this goal but raises certain objetions. This volume documents the contributions of the 16th German-American Colloquium of July 2022, which discussed the problem in an interdisciplinary way with the participation of renowned experts from both countries. |
