| Abstract: | "An approach to the world of stonemasons in medieval Castile through the study of the construction of the cloister of the Toledo Cathedral, combining documentary sources and new technologies.The Cathedral of Toledo experienced a period of great activity with the elevation of the cloister and the buildings that surrounded it. This research proposes a new reading about its construction history and the organization of the stonemasons' workshops that worked in the great Castilian stonemasonry. Who were these masters and where did they come from? How were they formed? What materials and media did they work with? When and under what conditions did they do it? What "signs" did they leave on the stones of the cloister? To answer these questions, what was built has been contrasted with the preserved documentation and the study of lapidary signs has been included in the analysis of the facings.
