Abstract:	[Dt.:] Katalog und Archiv von John Sell Cotman in der Leeds Art Gallery. Leeds besitzt eine der besten Sammlungen von Cotmans Werks, darunter einige seiner schönsten Aquarelle und eine beispiellose Anzahl seiner Skizzenbuchzeichnungen. Die Skizzen wurden von dem Architekten Sydney D. Kitson aus Leeds gesammelt und der Stadt Leeds vermacht. Dank eines Zuschusses des Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund konnte Leeds zum ersten Mal all dieses Material vollständig katalogisieren und auf dieser Website veröffentlichen. Der größte Teil des Materials - sowohl Werke als auch Dokumente - wurde noch nie zuvor reproduziert und ist daher kaum bekannt oder erforscht. Seit dem 16. Januar 2018 ist die Katalogisierung von 812 Zeichnungen und Aquarellen sowie einem Ölgemälde abgeschlossen und online. Weitere 117 Werke, zumeist Drucke, sind aufgelistet, und es werden weitere Mittel gesucht, um die systematische Katalogisierung von Cotmans Radierungen und Stichen in Auftrag zu geben. Von den 930 Kunstwerken sind 644 in hoher Qualität abgebildet. An den restlichen Werken wird weiter gearbeitet. Alle "Cotmania"-Alben von Sydney Kitson sind gescannt und mit Transkriptionen online und vollständig durchsuchbar. Die Website enthält auch vollständig durchsuchbare Transkriptionen von Briefen aus Kitsons Bänden der Cotman-Korrespondenz sowie verschiedene andere Objekte aus dem Kitson-Archiv. - [Engl.:] Catalogue and archive of John Sell Cotman at Leeds Art Gallery. Leeds has one of the best collections of Cotman‘s work, including some of his finest watercolours and an unrivalled number of his sketchbook drawings. The sketches were collected by Leeds architect Sydney D Kitson and bequeathed by him to Leeds. Thanks to a grant from The Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund, Leeds has for the first time been able to fully catalogue all this material and publish it on this website. The majority of the material – both works and documents – has never been reproduced before, and is consequently little known or studied. As of 16 January 2018 the cataloguing of 812 drawings and watercolours, plus one oil painting, is complete and online. A further 117 works are listed, mostly prints, and further funds are being sought to commission systematic cataloguing of Cotman's etchings and engravings. Of the 930 works of art, 644 have high quality images available. Work continues on the remainder. All of Sydney Kitson's 'Cotmania' albums are scanned and online with transcriptions, and are fully searchable. The site also includes fully searchable transcripts of letters drawn from Kitson's volumes of the Cotman correspondence, besides several other items from the Kitson archive.
