| Abstract: | [Dt.:] Artexte ist ein Informationszentrum für Gegenwartskunst in Montreal, Kanada, das im besonderen auf kanadische, aber auch internationale Künstler der Gegenwart, spezialisiert ist. Es bietet auf seinen Webseiten Suchoptionen in den eigenen Datenbanken zur Kunst der Gegenwart. Geboten werden eine bibliographische Datenbank, Künstlerdatenbank (vorwiegend Kanadier) - auch nach einzelnen Werken, Kunstgattungen und kanadischen Kunstorganisationen kann gesucht werden. Außerdem verfolgt Artexte mit seinem Projekt `Public Art´ die Dokumentierung öffentlicher Kunstwerke in Kanada, auch hierzu ist eine Datenbank verfügbar. - [Engl.:] Artexte is committed to the understanding and the advancement of the visual arts through reliable information sources. Its primary goal is the study and the development of material that documents the field of contemporary art. The Bibliographic Database "e-Artexte catalogue" is a search tool for a database of documents on contemporary art. There are further databases on Canadian arts organisations and contemporary artists. Artexte engages in research, interpretation and dissemination activities based on its unique collection, covering the visual arts from 1965 to the present, with emphasis on the art of Québec and Canada. |
