Elegant White Enamel and Abalone Alpaca Metal Collar Necklace

This handsome multi piece necklace features the incredible work of the Mexican metalsmiths. It is made of alpaca metal which looks like silver and wears like iron. The metal is an alloy with zinc, copper and sometimes nickel. The inlay work is lustrous pieces of abalone shell which are the color of a stormy sky but radiate colors of blue, green and pink. The background is white enamel in the metal which makes this a perfect spring or summer necklace. The necklace measures 17 inches long and each piece is gently scalloped for a very feminine look and fit. The largest piece is just 1 1/8 inches high. Because of the way this necklace is made, I can wear it well when usually I need 18 inches or longer. The inside circumference is 19 inches. It is marked, ALPACA, MEXICO, on the back and is in excellent condition. There is a simple hook closure.
