a pair of scissors sitting on top of a piece of paper next to some beads

Don't say what is a fob....!!! ;-) I made some little beaded scissor fobs that go on the end of your rotary cutter or scissors...they are all different so a quilter can tell her scissors from another quilter's scissors. I got on a roll and made enough for everyone going on the retreat this weekend!!! Check them out... I tried to make a variety of colors...I thought Patti A. might like the black/yellow, and maybe Regina the green (Ireleand)...and lots and lots of others!!! I love beading and…

a pair of scissors sitting on top of a table next to some beaded bracelets

Step 1: You need some type of string, wire, thread etc. to use. I chose the nylon beading thread. You need to measure the length of the scissors with the thread and then pull out double that amount and cut it off. The thread needs to be twice as long as the length of the scissors. Step 2: I liked the idea of a cap on the fob to put over the end of my scissors. You don't have to do this. This is a knitting needle cap, used to put on the end of a knitting needle. They come in different sizes…

Assembling the Pin Cushion Sewing Machine Method: 1. Trim your finished piece to about 3/8" - 1/2" away from all stitching. 2. Cut a piece of matching quilting cotton (or fabric of your choice) the same size. 3. Place pieces together wrong-side out, and stitch around the edges of seam allowance. Leave a hole in th

four pictures showing how to make an origami leaf with yarn and buttons on it

I decided to do a picture tutorial of my scissors fob. It is just a smaller version of the thimble holder on the right. I call it a Brazil Nut Fob because it is shaped like that particular nut. I drew three arcs on a 2.75" circle cut out of a yogurt lid, then cut them out. Next I cut out three more only slightly smaller, about 1/8" to 1/16" all the way around. Then I traced around all six of them on the back side of two colors of fabric. The three larger ones in one fabric and the three…

the package includes two cell phone straps and three metal clip holders, which are also attached to each other

Alrighty then. You've asked, and I'm delivering. Yesterday I made a dozen plus seven scissor leashes. Some will be used for future giveaways, some will be sold in my Etsy shop. But for now, let me show you how easy it is to make your own.... First off, you've got to go to Michaels (or AC Moore or JoAnn) and spend about $25 (if you buy everything on sale) for supplies. You are going to need crystal beads, charms, cell phone straps, eyepins and other beads. You should also have these two…

a collection of beaded necklaces on a black cloth covered in beads and charms

I enjoyed making these and continued making them until I ran out of supplies. Each one has one of my polymer clay beads on it. Who knows what they are? Does this closeup help you? When I got my new DOVO scissors I wanted a way to find it easily and so decided to make a scissors fob. My first attempts were not successful but I didn't give up. I am so pleased with all of these. Our Art Quilt Group had a luncheon today. I gifted one to each member. I hope you enjoy this puzzle.
