But seriously, this tortilla soup (aka Aztec soup) recipe is so good! I learned this version when I visited Oaxaca and I will be making this all the time! Please see recipe below:

For the broth:
4 chicken thighs bone in skin on
5Qt cold water
1tsp thyme
1tsp cumin
1tsp cloves
1 onion
2 garlic cloves
Handful of parsley and cilantro
Hefty pinch salt
Cool until the chicken thigh meat is tender. Then remove from the broth, shreds the meat and reduce the broth.

Fry until golden brown:
2Tbs neutral oil
2 Plum tomatoes
1/4 onion
4 garlic cloves
Blend until smooth

-Add in 100g adobo sauce for 2Qt chicken broth
(more to taste)
-Salt to t.t.
