Simple Stories: Hello Sweetie

It’s been a L-O-N-G time since I have created a baby layout, but I always welcome the opportunity whenever a new, super-CUTE baby collection comes my way! Simple Stories just released a darling baby collection as part of their ‘Classic Pooh’ collection called Classic Pooh – Baby. I had so much FUN creating this page!

HELLO SWEETIE

It’s interesting printing off baby pictures of your children after they have grown into adults. Photos that I didn’t choose to scrapbook the first time around are now seen with new eyes …. ‘How could I NOT scrapbook this photo, and this photo, and this one, too?!’

I found lots of photos of 19-year-old Camryn at 9 months old that I couldn’t wait to work with again!

Don’t worry if you don’t currently have babies or grandbabies in your life … there are SO MANY sweet elements, like florals, bees, and DARLING pastel patterns that will be perfect for scrapbooking Spring or Easter photos, too!

I definitely had to use lots of the florals and little bumblebees on this page, sprinkling them in wherever I could.

I also added in lots of machine-stitched details since the collection had dash lines and patterns with ric rac-shaped stripes. I always love to stitch on my pages anyway, but I love when a collection has those details incorporated into the elements as well.

I used some dies from my stash to die-cut two ovals to anchor my title. I used the same Color Vibe Blush cardstock that I used for the page border, along with the dotted side of the Color Vibe White cardstock. Next, I added coordinating glossy enamel dots in different sizes on top of the title letters to give it added dimension.

Of course I had in a little bit of Winnie the Pooh by the title, too! He’s as cute as can bee! 😀

The last little detail I added to this page was a die-cut scallop border at the bottom of the small photo. I thought it would be a great way to bring the yellow color down to the bottom portion of the page, and I also think it highlights the photo of my daughter’s cute little toes, too!

Simple Stories: Family Fun!

Oh, how I love a good game night with the family! Hello, friends! It’s been a while since I have updated my blog and I figured I would start with my latest layout created for Simple Stories. This scrapbook page is celebrating the silly antics between siblings using the NEW Game Night collection. this collection is bright & colorful and full of so many fun icons from our family’s favorite board games. I couldn’t wait to play with this one!

FAMILY FUN!

I began this layout by fussy-cutting a few elements from the papers. First, I cut out the large stack of board games from the 6×8 Pad to accent the left side of my page & anchor my overall design.

Next, I fuss-cut the numbered spinner from the 3×4 ‘That’s Life!’ 3×4 card (12×12 paper), as well as the phrase, to tuck behind the top edge of my photo. I accented the center of the numbered spinner with the large spinner Decorative Brad for added dimension.

I accented my title with a fan of money, game pieces, and the chipboard starbursts. The most funny thing about playing the game with my kids this particular day was how MAD my daughter was that she ended up with a job that didn’t pay well … so the money icon was a MUST. Ha!

The title was created with a mixture of foam stickers and Big Bits. I added more game pieces and starbursts to the right side of the title, then accented the centers of each one with the Glitter Enamel Dots. So CUTE!

This was the first time my kids had played the game of ‘LIFE’ and I love that there were elements included in the Game Night collection that matched this board game! It’s definitely a family-favorite and the vibrant colors captured the excitement of our time together. What boardgame does your family like to play?

Hip Kit Club: Starting with a Sketch

SWEET MOMENTS

I love the slanted strips on the background of Allison Davis’ sketch and had photos already printed that would fit perfectly. I decided to do a mirror-image of the sketch so that it worked better with my photos.

I knew right away that I was going to use the Stitchable Eyelet Border Metal Die to create one of the background strips. I followed the examples shown on the product page to guide my stitching with the blue, green, yellow, and orchid colors. I love how it turned out!

I fussy-cut several border designs from the ‘Giggles & Laughs’ paper to complete the background.

I matted both of the photos with the ‘Courageous’ blue cardstock from the cardstock kit, then added a title from the Glitter Foam Stickers below my main photo. It’s hard to tell from the photos here, but the glitter on these stickers makes the title look like it is sugared, and sweet enough to eat! I matted the ‘S-W-E-E-T’ letters with white cardstock so that they would stand out a little better against my photo.

Next, I accented either side of the photos with the Cardstock Floral Die-cuts from the kit. I love that a couple of the florals had pre-punched holes that I could add stitching to. So CUTE! The center of each flower received a sugary, glittered dot from the Glitter Foam Stickers.

I accented the top of the main photo with a couple of tags from the March 2025 Pocket Life Kit, then added a tab at the top of the page to highlight the date.

I then sprinkled in a few butterflies and a beetle (Mini Puffy Shape Stickers) around the florals.

Finally, I typed up some journaling strips to add the story to my page. I love Allison Davis’ sketches and loved how easy & FUN they make scrapbooking.

Stashbusting Layout: Crab-ulous

THAT’S CRAB-LOUS

I have no shame in my large stash of supplies. I love having a wide palette of options for creating layouts with different color schemes and moods. Today we are going to a layout with a tropical vibe, even though this memory didn’t take place in the summer, at the pool, or on a beach.

In high school, my son asked his girlfriend to homecoming with a flamingo theme … saying he would be ‘Tickled Pink’ if she went to the dance with him. She answered him by giving him a hermit crab.

I decided to dig into my stash and find a collection that had both a flamingo & a crab and landed on some scraps that I had left over from the 2016 Pebbles ‘Sunshiny Day’ collection.

I pulled some additional tonal patterned papers from my stash to add more heft to the scraps I had left, and got to work creating a tropical scene across my page that included both a flamingo and a crab.

I added stickers & die-cuts with foam tape to create two tropical embellishment clusters on this page, then sprinkled in some twine, gems, and enamel dots for texture.

I had so much fun creating this page, and it always feels GREAT to make good use of my stash. I hope this layout inspired you to grab some photos and get scrapping as well.
