Auraiya Hope drops ‘The Chronicles of Love EP’
On-the-rise reggae singer Auraiya Hope (A-Ray-of-Hope) has delivered on her promise to give fans an EP in 2025. The four-track project, The Chronicles of Love EP is a follow-up to her début album, The Chronicles of Love (2024), both on her label Rocky Valley Records.
“The EP is dealing with the emotional journey to finding true companionship,” Auraiya Hope explained. “The album explored the emotions experienced along the journey and the complexities on the journey, the highs and lows.”
The EP contains one cover and three original tracks, including the lead single, This Must be Love . This song already it has its own story, which speaks to the creativity of Auraiya and her promotional team. Having recognised the immense popularity of Richard Brown films, which drops new content on YouTube weekly, the decision was taken to approach them for a partnership using the song.
“We wanted to see if one of their films could portray the message of This Must be Love and they agreed. The song is the soundtrack to the film and it will be released on Valentine’s Day. And I even acted in it,” shared Auraiya, who is also medical doctor.
The music video for This Must Be Love will première at the EP launch on January 28 at the Footprints Café on Belmont Road.
The launch, a press release stated, is a joint effort between Auraiya Music and Experience Sound and Music, which caters to small and medium events.
The company will take the opportunity to showcase its services, including its sound offerings and the talented The Experience Band. Auraiya will be backed by the band, which will also perform a live set.
Speaking further about the album, Auraiya noted that the cover song is It Hurts to be Alone by Bob Marley and the Wailers. On this track, the lead singer is the only female member of the Wailers, Beverly Kelso, whose story Auraiya finds fascinating.
“I met Beverly Kelso when she came to Jamaica last year. I did the reggae version of It Hurts to be Alone and presented it to her on her birthday. I am very happy with the project. All the songs can be hit songs … they are solid songs that can last a lifetime,” the 2024 winner of the prestigious JaRIA Reggae Song Competition says confidently.
