Non-refs?
Hi! Firstly I would like to thank you help in here. The numbers are there for me to remember that I have to add the references. However, whatever changes you have done until now, leave them as they are. Any new article you find with those numbers in between brackets, please add {{Refrans}} at the top of the page. Thank you again for your help in here and hope you enjoy editing in the Jamaican Wikipedia. --Katxis (talk) 07:03, 3 Juun 2016 (EST)
- OK… well, despite your suggestion that I leave my changes alone, I've gone ahead and re-added the bare bracketed numbers I had removed in earlier edits (the ones I could find, anyway), and I've added
{{Refrans}}
and a==Refrans==
section to the relevant articles — see Category:Aatikl we niid refrans. Not listed in that category are Latn, Ischri, and Fos Maruun Waar, which also contain "bare" footnote numbers but already have some<ref>
s in them (so they have not been tagged with{{Refrans}}
). - dcljr (talk) 18:55, 16 Juun 2016 (EST)
Mop
Would you be interested in taking on a mop for this wiki? I notice you aren't a sysop anywhere, but you know the inner workings quite well. I told Katxis that there ought to be another sysop here, and he proposed nominating me. But I'm already pretty busy at Ladino Wikipedia (and to a lesser extent at Incubator). I think it would be very helpful to this project if you had the sysop bit here. StevenJ81 (talk) 08:49, 23 Juun 2016 (EST)
- Hmm. I wouldn't really be comfortable being a sysop for a language I don't actually speak/read. (As a native English speaker, I can "do okay" reading Jamaican Patois — especially the form used on most pages here, which appears to be almost-standard English with "Jamaicanized" spelling — but still… it's the principle of the thing.) Let me think about it… - dcljr (talk) 09:30, 23 Juun 2016 (EST)
- I kind of agree with you, truth tell. Yet I'm a sysop on ladwiki, even though I don't speak it. (And if Ladino/Judeo-Spanish resembles any modern language, it's Spanish, which I also don't speak.) There is a lot of "gnome" work I do all the same, and I never make judgments based on language without consulting people who do know. Personally, I hope someone like Yocahuna would be willing to take the mop (administrator) up after a year or so. But for now she's still learning her way around, too. So we have people who speak Patois, but not Wikipedia, and people who speak Wikipedia, but not Patois. For the moment, something has to give. StevenJ81 (talk) 10:39, 23 Juun 2016 (EST)
Tent bigis
Hi Dcljr, thanks for the note you wrote on my PD. What I meant was that they are one of the ten most populous countries in the world, but now I realized that the meaning is not correct. It is possible you correct them? If you are not able we need remove this part. Thanks again. DARIO SEVERI (talk) 19:56, 28 Julai 2016 (EST)
- Hi! I'll wait until the end of the day here (Thailand) if no one give any suggestion I will remove that part. DARIO SEVERI (talk) 20:25, 28 Julai 2016 (EST)
