Exceptional blending of creativity and style! Great execution of the Windows 95 visuals which was a nice touch, excellent use of the jam theme.

Fun game with interesting idea and style! Good job!

This was a really creative and cohesive idea, and it fit the theme really well. Love your graphics and how it came together visually and in terms of sound. Unfortunately I found it quite confusing how to use the different power ups and in what order they'd apply, and I got stuck and couldn't proceed quite early. Maybe a bit more tutorial content would have been helpful here. Definitely a great vibe, though. :)

Haha thank you ! I often got told that this was a bit confusing but i didn't want to do walls of texts saying how everthing works, i found it funnier to just learn on the go but I completely understand the critic !

Thanks for the feedback !

Very creative puzzles, the SFX makes it a 10!

Very nice and unique! Had some trouble figuring it out in the beginning hehe.. But when it clicked, I enjoyed it a lot!

the styling of this game is insane! i liked the level selection hub and the level names a lot! the vhs effect came out quite nicely and i liked the curved aspect.

A really fun and polished game!

I love the fullscreen shader that you added and the Windows XP atmosphere. Great game!!!

I like this one. Good level design, art style is good and doesn't take itself too seriously. The item system was a creative way to make the puzzles more interesting than a lot of games that I've seen take this approach during the jam. only thing I would change is maybe a bit more polish to the movement mechanics, maybe a coyote timer. Overall awesome job!

Developer(+1)

thanks alot, i did some polish to the movement, like the fact that your input get registered as soon as you touch the floor, i didn't include a coyote timer on purpose because i wanted to make the limits of the jumps clear, but i get what you mean.

Love the creative use of the items here! Congrats :)

This is a very good game. One of the best I've seen in this jam. The puzzles are designed very well that makes you think a bit and go "aahh right" when you finish them. I love the Win 95 theme, made me nostalgic for a bit.

This is seriously an impressive game design, absolutely love  it!

Puzzles were engaging and fun, great game!

Very cool game! It took me a while to figure out what all the power ups did and what order they were applied but I really liked the art design and the puzzles were really clever! Very impressive you were able to make so many levels in such a short time. Well done!

Favorite game of the jam so far. Beat the whole thing. The puzzle design was very good for it being created during a jam. I am impressed. Not to toot my own horn, but I have made games with both mechanics of "you have a magazine of different resources so the order you collect them in matters" and "resources are sometimes obstacles you might want to avoid" in different game jam projects before, but you have somehow done both at once and better than I have ever managed. The visuals were also great, big fan of Win95 aesthetics. Overall 5 starts on all fronts from me. I hope the platforming controls will be tighter in the full release *wink wink*. One small thought, but I think using a literal box as your character would make it easier to gauge changes to your hitbox, but I see the humor in the stretched stickman.

Haha this is the most detailed comment i got so far ! Thank you alot it was my first time making a puzzle game, i used what i learnt from games I've played like baba is you and videos on YouTube, and everyone seems to agree that i did a great job on that so im extremely proud of myself. Being the favorite game of the jam of at least one person is already more than enough for me !

I would really love doing a full release, more polished and with more content, but it's really hard to do a full release and i always end up giving up. I can't promise anything but the idea of fully fleshed out game really tempts me

As for the square character, i have thought of it but it's just really boring, maybe adding a subtle grid in the background could be a workaround.

Anyway thanks for the feedback and the time you've taken to write that novel comment !

Very interesting concept, and also quite unique in that the hub is also played like a game level. Level 10 is kind of annoying though because the timing of the reverse gravity is quite tight.

Developer

haha thanks alot, i wanted to make more than just a level select screen so i made that hub ! I can totally see why you didn't like the more agility based levels and there's no issues with that.

Thank you again for the feedback !

The music was nice and I liked how the puzzles made you think about the order in which you use the items, unlike other submissions where you could change your size at will.
