  • Tutorial is only a picture in the background with not much explanation. One hit and you die with extremely floaty controls isn't a fun time unless you are like a diehard platformer lover. Could have used a volume control/in game story blurb. I only knew the background because I read your page.

What do you like about your game?
I really like how the sprites and movement turned out. The level design was very rushed, but this was one of the fastest learning experiences in my game dev journey.

I love this game. I finally got it to work on my computer and have been slowly chipping away at this game for while, gradually getting used to the controls and... idk maybe i have a thing for rage games, but I thought this game was very fun.

The difficulty is a bit high right at the beginning, but past the steep learning curve, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience playing the game. Gradually learning things like how to double jump as high as possible, how far you can draw out the coyote time before the initial jump, and other minor details really make the skill ceiling on this game higher than I really expected going in.

The little false path gag was a little confusing and frustrating at first, since that seemed the only way forward lol, but it's really grown on me, and I've come to really  like the way that it basically clarifies, "no, that tree was not just for decoration." While it was initially irritating, the short length of the game really enhances the experience, allowing for all kinds of experimentation, trial and error, and allowing platforming challenges to be introduced in unique ways, like that tree, without really wasting that much of the player's time lol

I DID IT!

And the art is absolute fantastic btw. I love this style.

The controls didn’t feel that tight, but they were good enough. The animation of the duck character was my favorite part. I’m not sure how many tries it took me, but I was able to beat the game.

The path wasn’t very clear, but after some trial and error, I was able to figure out the right way. You even added a wrong way gag. In the moment, I really hated that because it was the first time that I managed to get there, but in retrospect, it was kinda funny.

I don’t feel like you used the aberration theme in your game, or if you did, I felt it was weak.

I had a lot of fun with it.Really enjoyed your game!

The next few lines are just some opinions of mine that you don’t really need to take seriously, but I feel that this “wisdom” could help you in the next jam. I know you were going for a rage game thing, but I feel like one needs to dial back the difficulty when making a jam game for the sake of the people who are going to play it and review it. I usually make games way too hard myself, and that sometimes results in my games being rated lower than they should be. I feel like that might happen to you. image.png image.png

Thank you so much for all this feedback! This helps a lot! I'm so happy you liked the animation, that was my favorite part to make. Also you are the very first person to beat the game, which I appreciate but even my family members couldn't get past the first difficult jump, so I'll definitely prioritize accessibility a lot more from now on. I thought I could get away with something like celeste, but I probably should have expanded the move set a bit, increased the acceleration maybe, and made the game easier. To be honest the aberration theme is a bit vague and loose, but the title of the game comes from an actual scientific term which I don't fully understand myself but it has to do with how when calculating the velocity of a star, its angle might be slightly off from what we see because of how light travels or something, so i made up a little story about the scientists being stupid and not knowing about that, which is why a star is about to crash into the planet. I learned a lot from this and you contributed a ton to that, so again, thank you so much for your feedback!

I liked the visuals and music was awesome. I didn't like how slippery the controls are. I kept dying on small ledges because the tiniest button presses were moving the character too much. The double jump in the air where sculls are is tricky. Didn't have enough patience to keep trying. Got to small platforms above the swining axe.

Thank you so much! I appreciate the feedback.

Nice game, perfect music for this. I can not pass the first part because im dum dum. But love it!

Developer

Thanks! I really should've balanced the difficulty better, especially since i myself died a good amount. The entire stage was actually pretty much made on the last day tbh so its very rushed. Thanks for the feedback!

I keep getting this error when I try to open the game

Developer(+1)

Apparently this means your pc isn't compatible for some reason, or that the problem is on your end (idk how to solve it unfortunately, sorry) especially if this error also happens with other games or programs. I absolutely loved your game by the way!

Thanks! And I'll try playing on another computer later to see if I can get it to work somewhere else
