217K views · 1.6K reactions | The finger rolling tutorial you need 😌🫶🏼✍️ Here’s everything you need to know written up: 🙌🏼 1: The preparation is key, you need to make sure your hair is SOAKING wet beforehand with curl cream applied otherwise finger rolling will be 10x more difficult 🙌🏼 2: After you’ve wet your hair and applied your curl cream, quickly check that the hair strand you’re finger rolling is smooth and tangle free 🙌🏼 3: Then it’s time to finger roll, it’s easiest to understand from watching the visual demo but I’ll try and explain it here too! - I use my index finger on my left hand and then my index and middle finger on my right hand - Glide these fingers down the hair strand and then with your dominant hand (I’m right handed) tuck the hair under the other finger and start rolling up to your roots. It sounds super confusing but I promise, once you get it, you get it! - Then I pull my right middle out from the curl and pinch the top of the curl before unwinding it. 🙌🏼 4: To get the best results, I always diffuse. You can air dry but I just find that it makes my curls a lot flatter and less defined. It also takes SO LONG. So here is your solution for you: ✨curl stacking with a brush so you can ensure your curls are clumped how you like them ✨ What is curl stacking? 💬 this just means: making sure you’re styling for 3D not 2D. Even if you have lower dentisty/ less hair to stack you will still benefit from styling your curls with curl stacking in mind and layering the hair whether that’s raking or doing this ❌Styling 2 dimensional on 1 singular layer may cause you to experience flatter roots, less depth and may cause a mess as you see in the video. Too many steps ?You can do all of this with your hands too!
