Poet, musician and my inspiration and some others too

I discovered Patti Smith in the 80s when a friend brought her music home to South Africa from the UK. This was at the height of apartheid, I don't know if she was banned here or was boycotting because of sanctions but her music and poetry shone like a beacon in my life. From that day to this she has been inspirational. Thank you Patti. As this board grew others began to appear - all good.
