AbstractAbstract
[en] Radiolanthanide praseodymium-142 (T1/2 = 19.12 h, Eβ- = 2.162 MeV (96.3%), Eγ = 1575 keV (3.7%)) due to its high β-emission and low specific γ-emission could not only be a therapeutic radionuclide, but also a suitable radionuclide in order for biodistribution studies. Conventionally, 142Pr produces via 141Pr(n,γ)142Pr reaction by irradiation in a low-fluence reactor and this study evaluates cyclotron reaction production of it. 142Pr excitation function via natLa(α,n)142Pr, 142Ce(p,n)142Pr, and natPr(d,p)142Pr reactions were calculated by TALYS-1.2 and EMPIRE-2.19beta codes, and with the data taken from the TENDL-2010 database. In addition, we compared them with the reported measurement by experimental data. Requisite thickness of targets was obtained by SRIM-2010 code for each reaction. The 142Pr production yield was evaluated with attention to excitation function and stopping power. Similar to reactor produced 142Pr; 141Pr impurity exists in cyclotron produced 142Pr while it could not be separated by chemical methods. Therefore, cyclotron and reactor produced 142Pr will be in carrier added form. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Differential cross sections and proton spectra around the fsub(7/2)IAR in 139La and 141Pr have been measured for the (e, e'p) reaction using a broad-range magnetic spectrometer and 100 solid-state detectors. Strengths deduced for these IAR agree with previous data which contradicted the results of the (p,γ) reaction and β-decay for the spin-flip type transition in 139La. The proton decay mode through these resonances was studied by the photon-difference method and also by analysis of isochromats. It has been found that the IAR in the electromagnetic reaction decays through two different kinds of proton channel; one of these is through the configuration characteristic of the IAS and the other is through an unidentified process. AbstractAbstract
[en] The neutron capture cross section of 141Pr has been measured with 0.2% energy resolution from 2.5 to 200 keV. Resonance parameters are given from 2.6 to 13.3 keV. The average s-wave radiative width is 88 meV, with a standard deviation of 27 meV. The s-wave reduced neutron widths and the corresponding radiative widths are not correlated, but the standard deviation of the s-wave radiative widths greatly exceeds that predicted by the statistical model

AbstractAbstract
[en] The γ-rays following inelastic scattering of highly monochromatic neutrons on 141Pr have been studied for neutron energies up to 2.6 MeV. The results suggest that the level scheme of 141Pr now can be considered to be complete as regards levels with I <= 15/2 up to an energy of 2.2 MeV. (Auth.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In this paper, experimental results are reported on E1 IAR of Bi209 measured by the use of a Bremsstrahlung radiation device in a BDM scattering pool. This experiment differs from the electron irradiation experiment performed from 1971 to 1972 in the point of using Bremsstrahlung. The objects of this experiment were to recognize whether g9/2 IAR was observed by using real photons similarly to the case of virtual photons, and to investigate whether the decay modes of g9/2 and i11/2 IAR were different or not in each case of irradiation. However, the experimental data showed no difference between the result by Bremsstrahlung irradiation and that by electron irradiation. Proton yield curves indicate that the contribution of g9/2 IAR is strong in each case of irradiation. The same analytical method was employed for the Bremsstrahlung irradiation as for the electron irradiation, and the decay proton spectra from IAR were estimated. Two spectra of each case showed no difference. Therefore, it cannot be considered that the excitation of g9/2 IAR regarding spin-flip transition is caused by momentum transfer in electron irradiation. (Tai, I.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Cross sections of the 139La(γ,n) and 141Pr(γ,n) reactions were measured using quasi-monochromatic γ-ray beams from laser Compton scattering. The results are compared to the predictions of Hauser-Feshbach statistical calculations using different models for the γ-ray strength function. The model parameters are constrained by the present experimental data and used to estimate the stellar photoneutron rates and their associated uncertainties and to study the implication for the production of the rare odd-odd nuclide 138La by the p process. No evidence for a large thermonuclear p-process contribution to the solar 138La is found. The need to further explore the photodestruction rate of 138La is emphasized

AbstractAbstract
[en] 54 spectral lines of singly ionized praseodymium (141Pr+) have been investigated using the high resolution spectroscopic method of collinear laser ion beam spectroscopy (CLIBS). Magnetic dipole interaction constants A and electric quadrupole interaction constants B of 49 involved levels could be determined. 19 levels are investigated for the first time using this technique. The A-values could be determined with uncertainties less than 1 MHz while B-values could be determined only with large relative errors, due to the very small quadrupole moment of 141Pr
