MRVC chief public relations officer (CPRO) Sunil Udasi said, “We are committed to transforming Ghatkopar station into a model of modern railway infrastructure. The progress of Phase II is on track, and we aim to meet deadlines while prioritising commuter convenience.”
President Droupadi Murmu laid the foundation stone for three railway projects worth Rs 6,295 crore in north Odisha, connecting Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts, and linking the state with Jharkhand and the Howrah-Mumbai line. She also initiated projects for a tribal research center, airstrip development, and a 100-bed hospital in Rairangpur.

Using the social media site X, which was formerly known as Twitter, railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw posted a video, saying, “Bharat’s first Hyperloop test track (410 meters) completed. Team Railways, IIT-Madras’ Avishkar Hyperloop team and TuTr (incubated startup). At IIT-M discovery campus, Thaiyur.”
Kalpataru Projects International Ltd (KPIL) and its subsidiaries secured new orders totaling Rs 2,174 crore. These include an elevated metro rail project in India, Transmission & Distribution projects in India and overseas, and residential building projects. This brings KPIL's year-to-date order inflow to over Rs 16,300 crore, with 85% coming from T&D and Buildings & Factories businesses.
The product will undergo pilot testing on Vande Bharat trains and coaches, with final approval expected within 15 to 25 days if the trials are successful.
Indian Railways is spending Rs 1,626 crore in the ongoing financial year for developing 57 railway stations across Jharkhand under its Amrit Bharat Station scheme, the Union government has said in the ongoing winter session of Parliament.
As per the release, the initiative aims to enhance the safety and efficiency of India's railway network by leveraging advanced technology to improve track inspections and maintenance.
After the inspection by railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav on December 8, the PM will inaugurate this project during his visit, scheduled for December 13.
Vaishnaw was responding to questions raised by BJP MP Doctor Manna Lal Rawat who wanted to know the details regarding women employees in the Indian Railways and those who are in train operation.
According to Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, CPRO of Northeast Frontier Railway, this initiative is part of the railway's broader vision to repurpose decommissioned train coaches into aesthetically designed restaurants with a touch of local heritage.
