11.8 cts. of beautiful red Ruby in a handmade 14 kt gold bezel setting with a hand forged bail. The pendant measures 23 mm long by 13 mm wide. The bail opening is 3 mm. Ruby is a birthstone for July. Mined in Mozambique HGF. Ruby is one of the highest valued colored gemstones. Ruby has been prized for centuries because of its excellent hardness along with its treasured rich red hue and vitreous luster. Ruby is a variety of corundum that gets its red color from chromium. Ruby typically displays inclusions and these are tolerated as part of the nature of the stone.
