Tangled kingdom

I drew on Disney's Tangled for inspiration for the House of Light. I think the town that Rapunzel finds herself in is bright and lighthearted. The people are cheery, the kingdom is prosperous, and the festivals bring music and laughter to its citizens. I also really like the architecture in this picture.

The Kingdom of Corona was inspired by one of the most visited places in France – the Mont Saint-Michel on the Normandy Coast, which before the pandemic used to welcome nearly 2.5 million guests every year. The island is still a home to 44 residents, including the nuns and monks that live in the Abbey and is on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Moreover, the monastery was also an inspiration for the city of Minas Tirith, which is a location in the Lord Of The Rings.

Nerd fact: the palace setting in Tangled is named Corona, and "Corona" is actually the extending ring of light around the Sun... hence the sun symbol representing the palace in the movie

Day 12 - Favourite Dance Scene: Kingdom Dance from Tangled. Hard though it is to overlook Beauty and the Beast, So This is Love, Snow White and her yodelling dwarves, and the very-well-done-yet-tragically-forgotten So Close scene from Enchanted (which gracefully pays homage to just about every princess flick before it), nothing compares to the excitement, magic, and romance all tied into this scene. It is pure, sweet Disney perfection.
