Pirate festival

Obtainium Works is the home of artists, inventors, tinkerers and pranksters. It is also the home of the Hibernian Academy of UnNatural Sciences, and the famous Neverwas Haul, a three story Victorian House on Wheels.

This work is based on based on art for the game Island Experiment created by the brilliant artist Dima Sharak https://www.artstation.com/sharak . At the beginning of the work I used Blender for blocking, and then I sculpted the parts manually using Zbrush. The texturing was rendered with the help of Substance Painter and SUBSTANCE DESIGNER tools. Render and post-processing in Marmoset toolbag and Photoshop. For details, look full resolution image. Dawn is a Pirate Artificer in a D&D campaign. Alongside Dawn is her loyal companion, Sir Balgary who is an adorable red panda. Together with her new allies they formed an elite group known as 'The Masquerade' and takes on all kinds of dangerous and secretive tasks given by their guild. I had a great time working on this character design and it has been a great learning experience for me.

There is nothing quite like eating crow. I guess if there were a bird a pirate might eat... It would be crow... So at least I'm in theme? See, for years I have been completely dumbfounded why people (especially party planners... EEEK!) would choose to throw a pirate party...
