I know what I’m feeding my family… The main staples that we grow on our homestead are sweet potatoes, white potatoes, carrots, onions, butternut squash, broccoli, strawberries, raspberries, and tomato products. There are definitely a few more items that we grow and store but these are the basics. We also store items like rice, beans, oatmeal, flour, salt, and sugar in food grade buckets. We order all of these from Dutch Valley. And, of course, our freezer is stocked with chicken and beef that we raised here on the grass from our pastures! #homesteading #homestea Butternut Squash Broccoli, Oatmeal Flour, Food Grade Buckets, Chicken And Beef, Weekly Meal Prep, Rice Beans, Root Cellar, Potatoes Carrots, White Potatoes

Wheat berries My long term storage method uses 5 gallon food grade buckets and @wallabygoods 5 gallon Mylar storage bundles. They come with everything you need to get to storing! (Use my code RUBY5 at checkout to save $$$). To start, simply place a 5 gallon mylar bag in your bucket, fill up the bag, toss in an oxygen absorber, heat seal it, label, and screw the gamma lid on! It’s really THAT easy! I use buckets with mylar because old farmhouse life means we occasionally have a mouse visitor. Placing the mylar bags inside buckets ensures my long term stored food is safe and protected for 20-30 years if need be! Why are these 3 my favorite to store? Simple.
