I recently attended the SDE National Conference on Singapore Math Strategies, and it was four days of non-stop learning! This is my second time to attend the conference, and it keeps getting better.

Find multiplication strategies like equal grouping, repeated addition, arrays, skip counting, number line, number bond, lattice method, bar model, area model, place value table.

Have the students choose 2 colors of connecting cubes with a whole number between 5 and 10(colors together...they'll be very tempted to make a pattern). Give them a half a sheet of paper and have them trace the whole on their paper and then put a line where the part should be. Have them trace the whole again , and then write in the numbers for each part and whole. They can "see" how the part part whole relates to actual numbers. Thinking Blocks Game
