#newdaynewchapter First listen to Shiva Mantras, Stotras, bhajans whenever time permits throughout the day. Your meal must include 3 ingredients: Wheat Flour (atta), Ghee and Jaggery (Gur). You can eat it in form of Shira. You may add dry fruits on it if you like. But use pure 100% wheat flour only. Do not use Rava or anything else. You can make Paratha roti, crumble it and add Ghee and Gur and eat it in form of laddu. Or simply Paratha (made with ghee), Gur and milk or yoghurt. Whichever way you like you may eat but make sure these 3 ingredients r there. You have to consume this only in evening after pooja is done. After your meal you must not eat anything until next day!!!! Some websites, say you may break your fast after sunset Pooja but No- your fast is On until next day. If you feel craving for food, its better to divert your mind in Lord Shiva and sleep early. This you have to continue for 16 Somvar (Mondays). For girls: ( if you have your menstrual cycle while observing Solah Somvar Fast, then observe the fast on Monday with full devotion but do not count that Monday!!! so girls may end up fasting longer and it may take up to 4.5-5 months to complete the Vrat. On the 17th Monday, perform your Pooja as usual. Prepare some Holy Prasad made from Whole wheat flour, Ghee and Gur (Jaggery). Make in large amount as you have to offer it in temple, to the priest, your family members and yourself! Ask the Priest to perform the concluding ceremony of Solah Somvar Vrat for you. pooja may last for about 1 hour in temple. Priest will recite RudraAbhishekh and other Mantras. Take all the required Samagri with you as indicated by your temple priest, Milk, Panchamrut, coconut, flowers, Your own Shiva Linga, Prasad and anything else he may ask you. After completion of Pooja, 1 part of Prasad is offered in temple, 2nd to Priest, 3rd you take yourself there itself in temple. (Do not forget this part. It is very much important.) and 4th give it to your family members. When I say Prasad I mean the one you have prepared from wheat flour, ghee and Gur. Now you may eat anything you like! Has anyone counted how many rights were violated here? - Right as a human - Right as a woman - Right as a doctor - Right as a student While we are debating whether an 80-hour workweek will make our country shine, R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital, a hospital and medical college, failed to provide the most basic right—the right to live—to its doctor+student after a gruelling 36-hour shift. This is not normal. This is not okay. This is not acceptable. We need to start conversations about workplace safety, women’s rights in the workplace, and speak out where it matters, when the situation demands. Ignoring these issues doesn’t make you safer; it makes you vulnerable in the future.

The term "tantrik" is often associated with practitioners of Tantra, a diverse spiritual and ritual tradition rooted in India Tantra encompasses a wide range of practices, and its interpretation can vary among different traditions and regions. It's important to note that the term tantrik is sometimes used broadly and may not always refer to a specific type of practitioner. If you are interested in communicating with spirits or seeking guidance from a spiritual practitioner, it's crucial to approach the search with care. Black Magic is defined as; magic involving the supposed invocation of evil spirits for evil purposes. So in Tantra there are no “evil” spirits - there are deities who have peaceful and wrathful aspects - the magic involves manipulating the energies of these deities for personal or altruistic purposes. In the Tantrik context “black” magic would be done with a self-centred/selfish intention and “white” magic would be done with an altruistic intention. The Tantra covers seven principle subjects:- 1. Sristi — Cosmic projection 2. Pralaya — Cosmic dissolution 3. Archana — worship of the deities 4. Sadhana — spiritual practice 5. Puraschcharana — methodology of rites and “retreats”. 6. Sat karma sadhana — 6 types of ritual activities 7. Yoga-dhyana — meditation The Sat-karma are:- Vashikaranam or Akarshanam = manipulation - rituals which secure control over another or the attraction of another person to oneself - usually for selfish purposes. VIdveshana = causing conflict among enemies - attaining victory over one’s enemies or vanquishing competitors. mohana = deluding - a rite for causing a particular person to become enchanted or fascinated by oneself or another. Ucchatana = causing ruination - for achieving victory in a contest or in war, or for attaining one’s cherished goals through destruction of others or their families and prosperity. Stambhanam = immobilization - a ritual to prevent one’s enemy from achieving success or prosperity or progressing in anyway. Maaranam = homicide - rites for killing an enemy. On this last subject the Agama has the following to say etat krūraṃ mahāghoraṃ tyājyam eva hi mantriṇāḥ | ye janā rākṣasa gaṇā lokopadrava kārakāḥ | teṣāmeva prayoktavyaṃ etallokasya śāntaye || (śrīman nārāyaṇa saṃhitā) This is a very ghastly rite which should be eschewed by the adepts. It can only be done to kill wicked persons who are causing widespread adversity to others and only with altruistic intentions to bring Universal Peace. The primary motivations of the vast majority of mankind are material;— sex, pleasure, security, success, etc. The Tantras and the Agamas therefore provide them the means whereby their desires may be fulfilled with mindfulness of the cosmic principles, and hopefully at some stage they will come to some degree of spiritual-realization. For the last week, the news and social media have been flooded with the gruesome rape of a resident doctor in Kolkata. While there is a lot that can be said about the handling of the incident, to me, the more important and larger question is the pervasive rape culture in India. Rape is, first and foremost, about control and power. It dehumanizes the victim, and assumes that their consent is irrelevant. It is the most EXTREME example of dehumanization of women, but Indian society (and other societies across the world) dehumanizes women on a DAILY basis. Here are a couple of ways in which men seek to control women, limit their autonomy and treat them as lesser humans: ❌ Tell them what to wear and where, shame them for their clothing choices and assume that the clothes they choose to wear says something about their character. Please stop this. Women are grown and functioning adults - what to wear, when and where is THEIR CHOICE. I don't see the women around me telling men to not wear shorts so I'm confused why men think they are entitled to. ❌ Tell them where they can work. Who they can work with. Who they can meet at night. When they should get married and settle down. How they must compromise on their careers. How they are bad moms for devoting time to their work. Casual shaming of women is rampant in Indian society. Treating them as supporting characters in the movie that is all about their husbands just seems natural to most people. Robbing them of financial autonomy by making it impossible for them to have fruitful careers is the norm. In rich and 'educated' circles also, it is common for people to pretend that it makes them great and liberal to 'allow' their daughter in law to work, as if controlling her is their birthright. While running a brand that caters to women, that is operated mostly by women, and that thinks about best serving them on a daily basis, here are a couple of things we do, that we hope other businesses do as well. ✅ Don't ask women in interviews when they plan to marry and have a baby. Mind your own business and treat the interviewee as a professional that you must respect. ✅ Have a zero tolerance policy with respect to any sort of harassment at the workplace. This extends to your own employees as well as any outside vendors. I am quick to fire photographers, external agencies or any other vendors that disrespect my team in any way. Don't wait to act. ✅ Recognize that when women struggle to juggle their personal and professional lives, they aren't 'playing the woman card' (I heard this disgusting statement once, by a 'woke' lawyer, and it has stayed with me since.) Recognize that you need to step in, extend empathy and be flexible so that they aren't forced to sacrifice their careers in this patriarchal society. Hopefully the next generation inherits a kinder, more humane society that sees women as equals with their own autonomy - in the workplace, and at home.

As more details emerge of the heinous rape and murder of a promising young medic in Kolkata, it appears that the motive had to do with the doctor raising concerns about certain corrupt practices in the hospital. As much as we demand safer spaces for women, we need to demand safer and more protected environments for those who speak up and do the right thing. Because reporting wrongdoings is never easy and comes with its own risks. And yet, it is the right thing to do. I'm reminded - and in no way drawing parallels with the above incident - of a Lokayukta case (the Lokayukta deals with corruption against government officials or the state filed by the general public) I filed against the deputy director of health in the Karnataka State Government around 14 years ago. It had to do with bribery and corruption over a yellow fever vaccine that I was a victim of and that I believe had the potential to cause a yellow fever outbreak if not addressed. The doctor in question was to be promoted and retire soon, so it was in her interest to drag the case and retire with full benefits which would not be the case if she was convicted. The case dragged on for several years. It was not easy on me. I had to take time off work for hearings, some of which she would not attend. I had to deal with archaic processes that were time-consuming - for instance, hearings would be handwritten, typed on manual typewriters, shared with me for review and then retyped. My name, address and other details were all visible on the Lokayukta site and it scared me as I was dealing with a fairly high-ranking government official. There were times when seeing what the case was doing to me, my family suggested I withdraw and close the case but I stayed the course in the pursuit of justice. Justice was never delivered! She had a lawyer. I did not. The final hearings were concluded and I was told to wait for a verdict. After a year or more of no feedback, when I enquired on its status, I was told the doctor had passed away and the case was closed - without a final verdict. I can only say, based on my experience, that it was planned for the case to drag on - I was fighting a power higher than me. As I said earlier, reporting wrongdoings is the right thing to do - not for any reward or higher gain but just so that justice is delivered for individual or public good. And we need to provide secure spaces that make it safe for those that pursue this path. #doingtherightthing #integrity #safespaces

‘Healthcare ads most violative, says ASCI’ -reported Times of India on May 23, 2024. It was mentioned that as per annual complaints report of the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) Healthcare-related ads accounted for a majority of advertising norms violations in the financial year 2023-24. In terms of percentage, healthcare ads contribute 19% of cases, followed by illegal offshore betting (17%), personal care (13%), conventional education (12%), food and beverage (10%) and realty (7%). In its scrutiny of healthcare-related ads, the ASCI said it recorded 1,569 norms violations (19% of total ads scrutinised), of which 1,249 potentially violated the Drugs and Magic Remedies Act, 1954 (DMRA), which regulates the advertisement of drugs. Celebrities continued to appear in ads that were in violation of ASCI code. About 104 celebrities appearing in misleading ads could not provide any evidence of due diligence. Every organisation, big or small is mandated to set up a POSH committee. If your organisation has less than 10 employees, in case of sexual harassment you could report to the local labour commissioner. The Ministry of Child and Women Development has an online complaint management system, She-Box. India does have a host of policies and protocols against sexual harassment at the work place, but the irony is that most of these policies are a tick-in-the-box activity. POSH committees in a large number of organisations are inactive, the committee members seldom receive training or even meet. Even the women don't want to report to the POSH committee as they are often looked upon as 'problem creators' if they report against their peers or seniors. Ensuring more women are an integral part of the workforce and ensuring freedom to express themselves has to be driven by the leadership of organisations. A mindset change is the need of the hour. "We just want to be in the papers. Let everyone see our CEO as a thought leader." This was a client's feedback after we had shared our strategic roadmap with them. I am sure this experience is one most PR professionals are all too familiar with- a desire for quick buzz and short-term visibility. But we all know, deep down, that true impact lies in strategic, long-term PR. Most people these days view #PR through the narrow lenses of media relations and influencer marketing. While these tactics are important, they're just a tiny part of a larger strategic picture. Whenever people ask me what #PublicRelations is, I always answer that PR is about building and managing relationships with stakeholders. (This may include customers, employees, investors, government officials, and the media.) It's about shaping perceptions, managing reputation, and creating positive change. Tactics (like media relations and influencer marketing) are the tools we use to achieve our strategic goals. They can be powerful, but they're only effective when used in a coordinated and thoughtful way. Let me give you practical examples to show the difference between PR tactics and PR strategy using a product launch: Tactical PR: Organizing a press conference to announce a new product. Strategic PR: Developing a long-term plan to position the company as a leader in its industry, using the product launch as a key milestone. Why is strategic PR more important? Long-term impact: Strategic PR focuses on building sustainable relationships and creating lasting value. Alignment with business goals: Strategic PR ensures that communication efforts are aligned with the organisation's overall objectives. Inspired by Dr. Samish Dalal session at the #5thFFFPConference, I recalled my 2021 skydiving experience. Sushama K Jain bhabhi's words still resonate: "Throw all fears and negativity out while jumping." As I stood at the door, I hesitated: "I don't want to go... take me back down from the plane." Fear crept in: •⁠ ⁠What if the parachute doesn't open? •⁠ ⁠Will I return home safely? But the instructor took the leap, leaving me no choice. I panicked, calling out "Mummy, Mummy!" with the added pressure of capturing perfect pictures and videos. Two valuable lessons aligned with Samish's insights: 1.⁠ ⁠In life and business, you have no choice but to jump 2.⁠ ⁠Having a mentor is like having a parachute - guidance and support.
