Flipkart launched a Fulfilment and Sortation Centre (FSC) in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, covering 1.59 lakh sq. ft. This facility, equipped with advanced conveyor automation technology, is set to enhance delivery speeds across the state, ensuring efficient service to every pin code while creating over 600 jobs. The centre emphasises inclusive hiring, with opportunities for over 100 female contractors and 11 persons with disabilities. With this expansion, Flipkart reaffirms its commitment to strengthening regional infrastructure and boosting local economies through enhanced supply chain capabilities. Maximizing the potential of incoming talent is a vital aspect of Flipkart's purpose of empowering a billion Indian dreams. Kickstart, Ekart's Internship Program for Supply Chain, saw 74 exceptional students from across 23 Indian colleges join us as Kickstart interns in 2024, who then played a pivotal role in training over 64,000 associates (more than 2x compared to 2023) in preparations for the Big Billion Days. Designed to cultivate their expertise in the ecommerce and supply chain industry, the Kickstart interns underwent classroom & practical training journeys, delving deep into the supply chain concepts. Upon completion, these interns then supported the L&D teams in training new hired associates across warehouses. Post hiring, these interns are then deployed on the shop floor to continue maximizing the field operations. The event welcomed artisans and aimed to create awareness about e-commerce, introducing them to the Flipkart Samarth programme, and providing insights into accessing larger markets. Shri Sumit Yadav, Chief Development Officer of Moradabad, representatives from the Handicrafts and Carpet Sector Skill Council, and Flipkart were present to guide artisans on how e-commerce can support livelihood generation and open up market linkages. Flipkart deployed over 10,000 electric vehicles as part of its delivery fleet on its journey toward a fully electric logistics network by 2030. This transition has enhanced last-mile delivery efficiency by 20% and reduced operational costs. To support EV operations, 38 dedicated charging sites with 190 chargers have been established in Tier-2 cities to facilitate wider EV adoption.
