White charcoal

As a part of my recent class assignments, I have been trying out drawings in white charcoal. And here is one that I really liked. I loved the way the vertical white lines give the violin a woody texture, and how the bright of the white charcoal in the violin strings seems to glint in the light. This is an original wet charcoal and pastel piece by myself titled,'Window lights'. Done in my own unique style combining charcoal with white pastel to create this rainy night scene of a person walking past illuminated shop windows. This piece looks great set within a white mount with either a black or white frame. A very bold piece with lots of contrast.
