All you need are two equally sized squares of watercolor paper (my squares were 14x14 cm), a bit of vegetable oil, hot glue, and an LED tea light. Fold the squares in half: vertically, horizontally, and diagonally. Cut into the vertical and horizontal cuts and fold the rays by using the cuts to fold the flaps towards the central fold. Overlay the rays and glue them together. Place an LED tea light inside the resulting void and glue the two stars atop one another. Judy on Instagram: "✨3D Star Paper Lantern Tutorial ✨ Happy Holidays, everyone! Here is how I put together the 3D star and add fairy lights to hang from a garland. The FREE SVG is linked in my stories and also under the “3D Star Lantern” highlight - I include 3 versions with the files. Feel free to ask questions about the process if you have any, I’m happy to oblige! My plan is to hang some of these from the garland in my extra way. If you’re making some, how will you use them in your decor? For these stars, the file is sized to 5.5” wide. Using 12x12 cardstock I only need about 1.25 sheets per star. The fairy lights were inexpensive and about $1 each, from Amazon.
