I got this dresser for FREE on marketplace and used some old paint mixed together to make enough to paint the two pieces (so long are youre using the same type of paint -water based etc.. this is an easy way to have less waste)! And if you dont already have paint at home, rustoleum also makes a chalk paint that is like $23 for a 30 oz container which is absolutely enough to do a dresser this size! And I’d say the closest Dixie belle color to the concoction would be vintage duck egg!) do you guys want more beginner friendly furniture flips?! This budget-friendly system is a quick and easy way to transform a space Three years ago I upgraded my daughter’s bedroom and now that she is 16, she’s ready for a new look. I started with these planks and they’ll be painted to coordinate with a stunning wallpaper she selected. They come in 96” length or 36”. I bought the longer ones and cut them in half. Each package was under $23 and I needed 4 packages When you install, you’ll want to use a level to make sure you have your first board straight. Beadboard is a tongue and groove system so as you connect them, the planks will support each other. Simply use Brad nails to attach to the wall. I do not recommend using any kind of adhesive. I purchased a pre-grooved trim for the base and top that was designed for beadboard. You don’t have to use that style, but I find it’s easier to get the trim flush against the board. These come pre-primed, which makes it easy to paint. I love accent walls, whether it’s some sort of wood being added, wallpaper, or even a pop of paint, I feel like they can totally transform a room and bring in some character. And I knew I had to add some character to this room, but wanted to keep it classic yet somewhat unique, so I went for a double board and batten wall. (Well really just the batten as my wall was already smooth). I used pine bead board to create this look - it was very easy to work with as it was lightweight and it flushed up perfectly to my existing baseboard and crown moulding! I went with the vertical design because vertical lines can create a sense of height and draw the eye upward, making the room appear taller and more spacious. What do you all think?!
