Autumn for us means lots of nature collecting and collecting acorn caps to make felted acorns is one of our favorite traditions that we've been doing since Elliot barely began walking. 3K views · 3.2K reactions | How cute are these little acorn cap mushrooms? There are so many decorating possibilities with these - in plants, as a bowl filler, in shadow boxes .. I added hanging hardware to make them into ornaments for my fall tree. 

All you need are acorn caps, twigs cut to size, a hot glue gun, eye screws (comment “shop” for a link) and twine.

Instructions:
🍄 Add hot glue to the inside of the acorn topper and attach the stick. Hold in place until the glue starts to firm up.
🍄 Paint caps and stems the colors of your choice.
🍄 Add eye screws to the top - you might be able to twist these in yourself, but it was hard so I used a drill with my smallest bit (which ended up being a tad too big, so I also added a drop of hot glue when twisting in the screws).

acorn ornaments.  I bet you could just use the belt sander to make that nice smooth hole in the acorn and then just pick out the nut.  Then Sculpey or felt mushrooms.  Awesome. Yesterday you caught a glimpse at what was on my work table and here today we have the end result, teeny tiny acorn huts for mushrooms. I like to think that if the pine squirrels came over for a crafting night, this is what they would make. I've hollowed out some acorn bodies and after they were cleaned and dried, glued in a wool mushroom and moss. I sewed small french knots on the caps for their spots.
