Something we learned is that the instructions call for a 16 3/4” opening. That is actually the size of the fire box, and there are screws on top and bottom that extend past the 16 3/4”, so you actually need about a 17” opening. Always best to double check measurements before you get too far, and always test fit in your opening before finishing! .
