Walking on the moon

It might be quicker than we originally believed, but it's a logistical nightmare.

Thousands of photos from Nasa’s Apollo missions to the moon have been added to Flickr

A4 size illustration that depicts an astronaut walking across the surface of the Moon. The arc of the astronaut's boot prints, curvature of the Moon's surface and negative space above the Moon mountains reflects the shape of the Moon and it's orbit around the Earth. The illustration was created in 2019 to commemorate 50th years since the first Moon landing and is seen through the camera lens of the astronaut's colleague.

This is one half of a stereo card of a lady wrapped in net sitting on a paper moon. This stereo card was a bit risque when it was made for display in a stereo viewing machine at an arcade. We have a several series of these stereo that show women in various stages of undress. We have a friend who calls them "girls in rags" since most are modestly wrapped in a length of filmy fabric.

After each of the Apollo missions to the moon, core samples drilled into the lunar regolith were examined, using Munsell Color Charts to describe the color. Find out more about their mission on the Munsell Color Blog.
