Four simple steps to install a ceiling medallion - no need to remove your existing light fixture!

I loved my ceiling medallion but disliked how it was painted white and seemed to melt into my white ceiling. In addition, the white made it look too fancy for my farmhouse look, so I decided to simply take it down and spray paint it black to match my chandelier. It ended up making it much more noticeable, drawing the eye up and also took away from the formal look, lending a more casual flare. Inexpensive fix. Just cost the price of the spray paint.
