Dr. Courtney Meltvedt on Instagram: "The first time I posted this, there were tons of questions. Here are the most common ones answered below: 1. What age baby can you do this on? A: Babies should be 4 months old or more 2. What type of water is that? A: Distilled water 3. What angle are you holding him at? A: 45 degrees or less 4. Why don’t you just use a tissue? A: The snot on the outside of his nose is not the issue. We need to get the snot out of his nasal passages so he can breathe and nurse. 5. Why don’t you just use a snot sucker? The Rub and Rock Burping Hack 👶🏻 Nothing makes a baby cry more than trapped wind 💨 so it’s vitally important to make sure they are getting a good burp after a feed (breast or bottle, they take in air with milk so this applies to both). So once ready to burp, you sit baby up on your lap, supporting their neck and back, you rub babies upper back for a few seconds and then gently rock the baby back and forth. The movement helps manoeuvre the trapped air to come out quickly. I’d go as far as to say this is the best thing I’ve learned all year! #yalllo #newborn #burpingbaby #feedingbaby #parentinghacks #fypシviralシ2024

It’s easy to clean, doesn’t have a ton of parts, flow rates are appropriate, and the shape of the nipple promotes an ideal latch for good muscle function and a tight seal. This baby is on a slow flow nipple. I like a baby to be on a nipple flow rate that is “just right”. Not too fast. Not too slow. Some older babies might benefit fro
