Hi, I was wondering if there was a way to make the audio enhancements speaker set to movies and stay on movies, because for some reason it keeps on switching back to music (I set it to movies even though I am listening to music because in my opinion the movies is better sounding than the music one)

Hi @Aas26,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To keep your HP laptop's audio enhancements set to "Movies," try the following steps.

Open the Sound Settings:

  • Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select Sounds.
  • Go to the Playback tab, select your speakers, and click Properties.

Adjust Enhancements:

  • Go to the Enhancements tab.
  • Select Movies and apply the changes.

Disable Automatic Sound Effects:

  • In some sound drivers, there’s an option that may automatically change the settings based on content.
  • Look for an option like Disable all enhancements or similar and uncheck it.

Check for Software Settings:

  • If you're using a specific audio software (like Realtek), open it and ensure that the audio profile is set to "Movies" and that there’s no option for auto-switching.

Save Your Configuration:

  • Some software allows you to save your configuration as a preset. Check if that option is available.

Update Audio Drivers:

  • Make sure your audio drivers are up to date, as sometimes bugs in old drivers cause settings to revert.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello Alden, I apologize for the late response. I did what you told me to, however the Enhancement part for me is just empty (as can be seen in the picture below). Do you know what else I can try and do?

Also I probably should've put this information in the first question, but the pc that I am using is the Prodesk 400 G4 MT Business one. I don't know if this information would be of help for you or not but I thought I should add this anyway.
