Better Balusters

We've just finished a big update on our house, and the stairs will be our next big project. I have no idea how long it will take to save for this. Our current stairs have some very colonial looking balusters- which I now detest. We have a very spindly mezzanine wrapping around our small second floor, so the balusters should have interesting spacing to prevent the mezzanine from looking like a pile of sticks.
