Brooklyn Botanic Lightscape

We trekked out to Prospect Park to see the Brooklyn Botanical Garden's Lightscape display with just nights to spare before it closed! The trail was truly magical this year - I love how they have new light displays each year, making it so worth going back again and again!

The water show was my favorite this year - a 5-minute musical show with illuminated fountains. It was so unique! Of course, the cathedral of light is just magical and we lucked out and it wasn't too busy (but it was about 10 degrees!) which made it even more fun to take it all in without the crowds!

Brooklyn Museum Trip

We spent a few hours at the Brooklyn Museum the other weekend! It's a really fun museum with so much to see and a trove of rotating exhibits. Sadly, the featured exhibit was sold out for the day, but there was still plenty to see!

The museum building is really a piece of art itself and it's fun to wander the halls and find the various exhibits in the galleries.

Sometimes a little culture on a weekend is needed and this fit the bill!

The Good. The Random. The Fun. v. 2

~~The Good:~~

Not too much good this week, sadly, my Uncle Bruce passed away last Sunday and we spent the week with family saying good-bye and honoring his amazing legacy as an engineer and dad/uncle/brother/grandpa. (Ever get an MRI? You have Dr. Bruce Strauss to thank for the technology!)

The Random:

We had moments of brevity on the NJ Turnpike...every rest stop now has these frog trash bins....ok NJ....

The Fun:

Out of bad comes good. Avi, Ben and the boys flew in for the funeral and we had some extra time together in DC! Here the boys are with our Uncle Howell.

NYBG Train Show

Winter can't go by without a trip to the NYBG for the train show! This year I went during the day and loved the way they arranged the displays. There were some new creations this year, including the Central Park theater, which was just renovated!
