Svelte 5.35.4+ / 5.36.0+ issues

While updating dependencies to investigate async support (#626), I started encounter other errors even before setting experimental.async = true.

After updating svelte from 5.34.1 to 5.37.3 the following errors started throwing when viewing the Area page (and others).

Bumping from svelte@5.34.1 to 5.35.7 also has errors

I believe a lot is related to the $effect in setupTracking().

Looks to be first introduced in svelte@5.35.4 (5.35.3 does not have errors), which has the single changeset of:

fix: abort and reschedule effect processing after state change in user effect

I'm not seeing any errors in the console, but some of the PieChart examples also don't render at all.

Looks like the effect_update_depth_exceeded error introduced in 5.35.4 is mostly a false positive and everything continued to render correctly up to 5.35.7 (see table of contents).

Bumping to 5.36.0 (i.e. when experimental.async was added) is the first version when the table of contents stops rendering (and interactivity broken), but did NOT introduce a new error.

testing every subsequent version after, 3.36.5 is the first version to provide an error message

fix: more informative error when effects run in an infinite loop
