Here's a few issues I've come accross

• Operating system: Windows 10
• Pencil version: 3.0.1

I recently used Pencil on a project that has now finished. Sorry I haven't separated these issues but I'm providing for other's benefit not my own.

Impacting Functionality

• You can only add one developer library at a time
• Reorder of pages doesn’t save (isn’t preserved)
• Export of 1280x800 (width X height) page sometimes produces a 2560 x 1600 image and export of a 1280x1280 page sometimes produces a 2560 x 2560 file
• Performing a shape search when elements are selected in the designer window modifies the selected elements
• Sometimes only “Common Shapes” are displayed in the library so I have to perform a search and clear it for the rest of the collections to appear.
• Files have been corrupted upon save

Annoying

• Extra (blank) results screen as last screen in shape search
• Multiple text controls (top menu, properties, on element)

English Translation

• When changing the name of a page and a duplicate name is found "The page name 'name' has existed. Do you want to continue updating the page with this name?" I suggest changing "has existed" to "already exists".

Shapes

• The “HTML content” feature of “Basic Web Elements” table doesn’t work
• Basic Web Elements “Pane” border style doesn’t work

Feature Request

• Ability to export without background (rather than manually turn off each background)
• Remember previous export directories for “export screen as PNG” (File>Export remembers directory)
• Use same filename for “export screen as PNG” as for File>Export

@thinw002: Thanks for reporting these issues. In the future, if you could take the time to submit them separately, that would be much appreciated as it allows for much easier discussion of the problems.

For example, I've been trying to reproduce your issue of Reorder of pages doesn’t save (isn’t preserved) and have not had any luck. I'm testing against the latest 3.0.2 Nightly build (on Windows 10) so it's possible that it was fixed implicitly since you reported this issue.

Could you please retest with a newer build and if you are still able to reproduce the problem, open a separate issue for it?

@thinw002: Similarly, I was unable to reproduce the issue Basic Web Elements “Pane” border style doesn’t work.

The Line Style for this item has a width of 0 by default. However, if you increase the width, it seems to work.

I'm testing against the latest 3.0.2 Nightly build (on Windows 10) so it's possible that it was fixed implicitly since you reported this issue.

Could you please retest with a newer build and if you are still able to reproduce the problem, open a separate issue for it?

Could Reproduce:

• Performing a shape search when elements are selected in the designer window modifies the selected elements (Alignment and other hotkeys are still active when typing into text boxes #332)
• When changing the name of a page and a duplicate name is found "The page name 'name' has existed. Do you want to continue updating the page with this name?" I suggest changing "has existed" to "already exists". (Awkward/incorrect English wording "has existed" #329)
• The “HTML content” feature of “Basic Web Elements” table doesn’t work (“Use HTML Content” feature of “Basic Web Elements” table doesn’t render the contents #331)

Needs more detail:

• Sometimes only “Common Shapes” are displayed in the library so I have to perform a search and clear it for the rest of the collections to appear.

• Multiple text controls (top menu, properties, on element)

Didn't attempt to reproduce:

• You can only add one developer library at a time
• Export of 1280x800 (width X height) page sometimes produces a 2560 x 1600 image and export of a 1280x1280 page sometimes produces a 2560 x 2560 file
• Files have been corrupted upon save

I did not attempt to address the Feature Requests either.

Thanks Michael. It's great to see that sine of my observations are helping the product. I hope to use Pencil in the future and submit more useful bug reports.
