Taken this past weekend in Wells Cathedral, candles lit in prayer for the memory of a loved one. Today we heard that someone we knew, through our close friends, has passed away suddenly - although we didn't know them very well it was still a shock and I thought a small token on Flickr would show our thoughts are with them.

Standing in the present, on the ground of history and with one foot in the future, I hold the significance of today in my heart and my mind. To step into a future with willful intent, I must acknowledge the size of the step before me, and shine a light so that I can see it.
