New York Central #3001, a 4-8-2 "Mohawk"-type locomotive constructed by the American Locomotive Works in 1940.  Dubbed "Mohawk" instead of the normal "Mountain" (4-8-2) type after New York's Mohawk River, it was used heavily in dual (freight and passenger) service until retirement in 1957.
