At the end of an afternoon near Roughtor on Bodmin moor I lingered awhile after people and dogs had gone. A large white stallion appeared across the moor - a proud animal as ever I saw. A Cornish naturalist friend told me later that a large white stallion had been seen swimming across Crowdy reservoir in that vicinity - a distance of around half a mile. This was obviously the same beast.
