oh!!! oh man!!! they- they held hands?? they- hold on a second. hold on a second. it's just so tender. You're more likely to get flustered by some gentle forehead kisses or bandage-wrapping than you are the hard stuff. why are you blushing in public, staring at your phone? they're wearing rings! they're- they're fucking married! oh my god! to each other! sometimes you gotta look away, it's so tender, but you'll always be back for more.
...huh. Not what I expected but I guess I can't argue with it too much.
Also, a do-over changing a couple of answers I second guessed myself on got me soulmate au which... I also can't argue with.

Sunday snippet. Mystic Nine edition.
Aug. 30th, 2020 11:41 pmFrom a longer piece that's slooowly getting written. And it's probably going to end up being one of the longest, if not actual longest, thing I've written in actual years. If I don't lose all momentum and bail on it, anyway. >.>

"Qi Tiezui." The voice was slow and measured and the echo of the grave overlaid it. Zhang Rishan spun round to find Ba Ye, or the spirit currently possessing him anyway, sitting upright and scanning the surroundings. "Of the fortune-telling Qi family?"
Ice slithered down his spine and he turned back to glare at Er Ye - Er Ye who should know better - only to find him flinching at the knowledge of his mistake already. He turned back to find the spirit watching them through Ba Ye's eyes, giving him a coldness that Ba Ye had never displayed in all the time he'd known him.
"I'll take that as a yes," the spirit continued. "Tell me, can he see into heaven?"
Zhang Rishan didn't know what the spirit saw on their faces but it burst out laughing at whatever it was and the sound was like a knife in his heart for its wrongness.
"He can! Oh, you were foolish to bring a fortune teller to me, descendants of mine. The things I can do with this body once I leave here just increased enormously."
"You're not doing anything with his body," he snarled. "Except getting out of it right the fuck now. Before I make you."

What are the kind of things someone from Changsha - or Hunan province in general, I guess - would notice about the accent of someone from the northeast? I can't be more specific than 'north east' because Mystic Nine canon doesn't get more specific than that (unless 'Dongbei' is also a place and not just a general region). And also vice versa, what would someone from Changsha sound like to someone from the north? I'm mainly looking for descriptions along the lines of 'lilt, twang, drawl' etc, that kind of thing.
I know the actual show has everyone speaking standard Mandarin like most cdramas do, but I don't think that would have been the case in the thirties, so. Help?
