( I will be adding photos of this magnificent piece being worn soon! ) Just a spectacular rare old vintage Zuni Apache Crown Dancer Bolo Tie necklace in pristine condition by the famous Navajo Silversmith Mary Morgan! Mary Morgan was the sister to Harry Morgan and her father was Sam Silversmith! Mary Morgan is a Master Navajo Silversmith, and a celebrity among'st Navajo Silversmiths. Mary worked with C. G. Wallace, Three Hogans Trading Post, and Tobe Turpen. At 90-pus years Old Master Navajo Silversmith MARY MORGAN is one of the oldest Navajo Artists, and a celebrity among Navajo Silversmiths. Born in 1923, Mary has been Silversmithing for over 60 years and is a master at her craft. Mary's pieces are known for their High-quality and Significant Presence. This sweet old beauty would look stunning on a man or a woman! I've "stolen" many a bolo tie from my husband to wear! This beautiful hand wrought unusual Zuni Hopi Bird slide pendant was created in the famous Tobey Turpen shop and is set with intricately hand cut and set rich blue pieces of turquoise, Mother Of Pearl, Black Jet and Spiney Oyster or possibly Red Abalone! Did you notice that 3 of the pieces are carved? Please use the zoom to see all the outstanding details! The large 3 1/4" tall by just over 2 1/2" wide setting is spectacular and highly detailed which must have added to the difficulty in the cutting and setting of each stone by this talented artist! The entire plate gently folds in so the pendant isn't laying flat against your body. This looks to be a collaboration of magnificent highly detailed Zuni inlay that has been installed on a Hopi stylized frame created by a Navajo artist! There are two hallmarks, an MM for the artist, an electric pencil TT Tobey Turpen Hallmark and this piece is stamped STERLING. The unusual bolo tips are hand wrought sterling arrow heads and Hallmarked PADILL? and are set with two tiny Sleeping Beauty stones. The thick sterling slide pendant is strung on a traditional leather braided cord that is soft and has retained it's dark color or perhaps was replaced over time.. Both the pendant and tips show a heavy patina. The Bennett Pat Pend style locking clasp dates this piece between the 1950's and 1960's is still able to hold the leather cords in place! In exquisite beautiful "please take me home and wear me" vintage condition! The slide pendant measures roughly 3 1/2" tall and just over 2 1/2" wide but looks much larger on because of it's shape! The adjustable braided cord measures 35" long with a roughly 21 3/4" hanging length. The entire piece weighs an impressive but comfortable 99 Grams! This is very hard to part with and I hope the new owner will love and cherish her by wearing her often! Use the zoom I do not accept returns unless an item is not as described or pictured.
