18ct Gold French Belle Epoque Pearl Dormeuse Earrings Beautifully crafted circa 1900, these earrings epitomise Belle Epoque style which often emphasised intricate and lacy metal work. Fashioned in yellow gold, they carry the French eagle head mark on each ear wire which indicates their finesse for 18ct gold. Classic in design, each Dormeuse (or sleeper) earring holds a creamy white pearl in an open work gold cage with a further silver coloured seed pearl secured in a scalloped collet setting at the top. Pretty detailing, reminiscent of fleur-de-lis, forms each prong of the golden cages.
