Reminiscent of the Bollywood divas of 1950s, the sarees in this collection aim at re living that timeless & elegant era, that is so close to the timelessness of Mukaish Embroidery. This Wine Coloured Saree is adorned with delicate embroidery of Flight of Pigeons (original Meiraas motif) on palla in a triangle flight pattern, while rest of the saree is covered with stars of Mukaish. NOTE: Mukaish is a Heritage Embroidery done by hand. This embroidery was initially done with Gold & Silver wires ones, but now is done with copper or even brass metal wires polished to gold & silver colour. For this embroidery following steps are taken: 1.)The wires are beaten to a thin thread like consistency first. 2.)A special Mukaish needle uses the beaten wires to make intricate patterns that are block printed on the fabric 3.)After each stitch the embroiderer uses the back of his thumb nail to push the stitch deep in the fabric (very laborious & time taking). 4.)Post full embroidery, the embroidery goes through Ghutai process (a glass bottle is filled with stones & rubbed all over the embroidery gently to make the embroidery wires settle bluntly on the fabric). This laborious process is often neglected to cut costs resulting in a non finished & pricking Mukaish garment. Meiraas does not cut any of this process & therefore our Mukaish garments are top of the line in terms of craftsmanship & skill.
