It’s easy to talk about statistics and science, but it may be more difficult for humans to imagine the violence, pain and suffering our throwaway plastic culture has caused.

UN declares ocean emergency About 8 million tons of plastic enters the ocean every year. This amount is enough to kill over a million seabirds and at least 100,000 marine mammals. If drastic measures are not taken, within 30 years the volume of microplastics in the ocean will reach a billion tons, which will exceed the total weight of the fish living in the ocean.
