The meaning of this line brings a sense of evil into the play, as Hecate is thinking of ways she can hurt people. It also brings a sense of meaning to the play by showing how people can truly wish to hurt others so much that they plan for it. It connects to the play’s theme of “Suppressing human nature gets you what you want” because Hecate isn’t human, but if she had any human nature, she’s pushing it aside in order to fulfill her goal of wanting to hurt people.

This picture represents how the witches have influence over Lord Macbeth and his actions; through the prophecy they give him in act one scene one. They awaken his inner desires and later on in the book he acts upon them which if it wasn't for the witches prophecy he had a lesser chance of committing the acts he did.
