[OOC] Stats
Oct. 17th, 2013 05:20 pmAge: Late thirties
Height: 6'0
Weight: 140 lbs
Medical Info:
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Orange
Physical traits: Very spindly. Often looks extremely malnourished.
What's Okay To Mention Around Him/Her: I'd prefer it if your character knows about his identity as the Scarecrow that it's not discussed.
Abilities: The Scarecrow can use fear toxin which is an highly effective and debilitating gas. The only person with a cure is the Batman. For camp purposes, it'll wear off in a week or so. He has several variations of this gas, often letting him choose what kind of fear he infects others with. He can also remove fear entirely.
Notes for the Psychics/Magically or Spiritually sensitive: Crane is extremely disturbed. He had a particularly violent childhood. If you wish to notice that, it's fine!
Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/spit at/step on/etc?: NO ONE MOCKS THE SCARECROW
Hugging/kissing/other non-violent physical contact: but why
Maim/Murder/Death: NO ONE MOCKS THE SCARECROW!!!
Cooking: Enough to survive. Eating isn't a priority.
Other: While Crane is from B:TAS/TNA, I will also be using his backstory from Year One, since it goes into greater depth on how he became the Scarecrow. I will also be using icons from Year One since they have the range of expressions for Jonathan Crane to function at camp.

[OOC] Application
Oct. 7th, 2013 02:10 pmCharacter: Jonathan Crane aka "The Scarecrow"
Series: Batman: The Animated Series
Character Age: Late 30s
Job: Supervisor of Fearful Events
Canon: We all know the story of Batman. After he lost his parents in a tragic accident, he devoted his life to fighting crime. Donning a suit that made him appear terrifying to the criminal elements of Gotham, Batman is vengeance in the night, working towards ridding all evil permanently.
While one man fights crime, another man endorses fear. Professor Jonathan Crane is a highly educated mind, dedicated to learning the effects of fear on others. Devoted, wordy and articulate, he has a tendency to ramble and insult those who he finds to possess a "lesser" intellect. However, when dismissed and rejected, Jonathan Crane turns to a vengeful figure himself - The Scarecrow. Extremely vicious and cruel, the Scarecrow will spare nothing when seeking revenge. After all, revenge is a dished best served with fear.
Note: He will be speaking as Professor Jonathan Crane.
Sample Entry:
Tell us about yourself in a few words.
Professor Jonathan Crane at your service. My working hours are after midnight, so keep that in mind when you're visiting. I take my work very seriously. And I do my best work after dark.
Why are you joining our happy community?
Are you truly happy? Happy is a word that the philistines in the work force pass around in order to make their pathetic lives seem much more optimistic than it actually is. I, on the other hand, do not use words lightly. So I ask you again; are you truly happy?
But I suppose that much deviation is too much for your pitiful minds to handle, therefore I will be merciful and answer your question. I am joining your community because there seems to be a high number of chaotic events occurring. Hopefully, under my unique expertise, I will be giving this community some order to the fears you all possess.
What is your job here at CFUD? What do you think that means?
I have not a single clue and you people haven't seen fit to educate me on the matter and then you expect me to answer this? Do come back when you have a lick of sense in you.
Do you have any deep personal traumas you might inexplicably be compelled to share in this questionnaire? Please describe.
You must be joking.
Are you lying on your previous answer?
Do stop. You're embarrassing yourself.
How would you describe your work history?
In one word? Idiotic. It started out well enough. I taught and I enjoyed teaching. But those fools at Gotham University cut my funding and for what? For tenure! They have no respect for creativity, for furthering new research into the field of psychology! In the end -- Ahem. Excuse me. It seems I've ventured off-track once more. As I was saying, my work history has given me many different experiences in the field. You could say I'm a master of fear.
Do you believe it is better to be feared or loved?
Having never been loved, obviously fear prevails. Love is a weak-hearted response to endorphins in the system. Easily replicated and easily made redundant.
Have you committed any crimes you were or should have been convicted from?
Science is not a crime and it should never be seen as much. Why, in the name of science, I have expanded our boundaries! Done wonders to remove the ridiculous myths still perpetuated in society today! There is no appreciation, no understanding to the depths of my genius!
Excuse me, but it's time for a new question. Do you have a five year plan in mind?
And let me tell you about crime! Crime are acts of petty pilfering, vandalism and murder. Am I a criminal? Never, I say. In fact, I should be lauded for my restraint! For I am gifted beyond sight and I have done nothing but work towards the good of all mankind!
Do you ever stop talking?
Oh, you will regret saying that. Mark my words. You will rue the day you accused the . . . THE SUPERVISOR OF FEARFUL EVENTS!
