Magical woodland

I started this scene becuase I wanted to learn more about creating foliage and shaders in UE4. I also took the chance to experiment with and learn speedtree to create the trees for the environment. The foliage is modelled in Maya and/or Zbrush and then baked down to planes as well as textured in Substance Designer. Designer was also used to create the tiling ground materials and the texture used for the rocks.

Books like Last Child in the Woods and Wild Child have stuck a chord with parents dissatisfied with leaving kids to grow up in "built" environments; the Forest School Movement dates back to the 1920s in Wisconsin and it is currently flourishing in the UK and Scandinavia.

Woodland creatures, and iconic images of the great outdoors, are wonderful designs for a party for little explorers. Our range includes tableware and gifts.
