This wonderful antique textile is a section of a French bed cover that dates c1810-1820. This toile appears to have been plate printed and would have used an aluminium mordant followed by a bath of dye using the madder root to create this gorgeous raspberry red tone ~ ~ A rare and wonderful textile, ideal for any collection ~ ~.
